You can use lavender oil to chill out when you're feeling anxious. It's also got a calming effect that might help you sleep better, especially if stress or anxiety is keeping you awake.
According to research from 2012, lavender aromatherapy is believed to ease anxiety by

affecting the limbic system, the part of the brain that handles emotions.
A review from 2019 looked at 71 studies using lavender to reduce anxiety. It found that just smelling lavender could really lower anxiety levels based on a clinically validated scale.
Massages with lavender oil can help reduce anxiety. You can also use a diffuser to spread the scent in the air or just enjoy a hot bath with lavender oil.
